The Software Developer I assists in improving the Bank's existing applications and brings new value to our business partners and customers by developing innovative new solutions.

This job posting is reflective of the Software Developer I essential functions, qualifications, and physical requirements. The Software Developer II has variable essential functions, qualifications and physical requirements. Competency and skill set will determine level of placement within the posted job family.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintains and develops both new and existing applications

  • Evaluates potential impact of new custom applications, documents custom applications and changes to existing custom applications

  • Interprets existing code for the purpose of modification and resolution of business inquiries/enhancements

  • Creates and modifies unit tests in a continuous integration development environment

  • Participates in IT development team code reviews and decisions; communicate with end users regarding system requirements and functionality

  • Utilizes proficient, test-driven development and modern coding practices, web standards, and responsive design

  • Works with TFS or other source code management tools as well as the CI/CD pipeline

  • Maintains positive relationships with internal customers, vendors and development team members

  • Translates business requirements into high quality technical designs and working software

  • Strives to continuously improve the work environment

  • Works collaboratively with the software development team to address technical issues and problems while driving software improvements

  • Complies with all related Federal, State and Industry laws and regulations pertaining to Banking.

  • This position requires extensive or prolonged typing/keyboarding.

  • This position requires sitting over 66% of the time.

  • This position requires Visual Acuity at 20 inches (or less) over 66% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other similar program; or comparable professional work experience to include experience in .NET software development, .NET background, ASP.NET, MVC, C#, Visual Studio and SQL Server

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Ability to travel to office and service providers

  • Excellent technical support documentation skills

  • Experience developing against RESTful and SOAP APIs

  • Familiarity with other advanced client side frameworks i.e. JavaScript, JQuery Familiarity with entity framework

  • Desire to work to expand DevOps practices

  • Special Background and Criminal Check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AngularJS/Angular (Typescript) a plus

  • Experience with a financial organization with retail or commercial experience a plus
