SM3 Program Quality Engineer Job Description: The ideal candidate will champion SM3 IA/IB Quality Management System requirements and partner with Program leadership to support all phases of the SM3 IA/IB Program. They will implement continuous programhealth assessments, improve customer deliverable products/critical processes/systems, and manage customer relationships. The candidate will be familiar with Tier 2, MDA requirements. The SM3 Program Quality Engineer will execute initiatives for all phases of the SM3 program and work within integrated teams to analyze, control and improve product quality through analytics and by performing the following activities: Develop partnerships with senior leaders, IPTs, and functions throughout the Program to define steps necessary to implement quality strategies that shape Raytheon’s ability to become the provider of choice. Demonstrate critical thinking skills when identifying solutions for issues Analyze/validate measurement system capability for accuracy, repeatability, reproducibility, and stability over time using various tools including PFMEA, PPVs, SPC, etc. Able to interpret command media in compliance to work being performed. Able to lead and perform root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, implement closed loop process controls and continuous improvement methods to improve product/process predictability and capability. Participate in CCB, FRB, PMAB, PCB, and MRB boards. Required Skills: Minimum eight (8) years of related Quality Engineering experience Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional process improvement teams Competency in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of system engineering principles and design analysis techniques Ability to understand drawings, GD&T, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOM), consumable materials control, and process disciplines Experience in development and usage of quality metrics that will drive actions to improve processes, designs, materials or measurement systems Knowledge of statistical control methodologies Strong knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management Systems Six Sigma, ASQ, Level 5 Mission Assurance Certification (internal candidates) Ability to obtain Secret clearance Desired Skills: Knowledge, application of PRISM transactions Demonstrate knowledge of key characteristics and ability to implement effective process control techniques Proficient in the use of data analytic tools, pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, gage R&R, and pFMEAs Experience with Tier 2 MDA programs Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in improvement activities/projects Able to translate internal and contractual requirements Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and ability to work in a highly technical, dynamic and collaborative work environment Able to exercise sound judgment/decision-making and apply critical thinking skills Ability to identify root cause and implement effective short term and long term corrective actions Required Education (including Major): B.S. - Engineering, Science, Technology or Mathematics. Preferred degree fields are IE, EE, ME, ChE, Physics, Chemistry, or Computer science Interim Clearance Required: This position requires an interim secret security clearance before start. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
