Raytheon Sr Principal Mechanical Engineer - Program Area Lead in Tucson, Arizona

Mechanical Subsystems Directorate has opportunities for independent and high energy Program Area Leads (PALs) whose responsibilities will include: Prioritizing the many demands from all levels of engineering across multiple programs within the product line to self-initiate engagement of yourself into critical issues partnering with the MSD Leadership Team, Chief Engineers, IPTs, PLCEs and other stakeholders Instilling ownership among teams to knowledge point based execution plans to drive critical issues to closure as well as mitigating issues pro-actively prior to production stops and / or schedule slips that impact the name brand perception both in cost and technical rigor Partnering with MSD PALS and across ESD PALS in identifying systemic issues across the organization, developing strategies, and executing directorate initiatives to address. Key resource to the PLCE to ensure program execution throughout the product lifecycle; lead FRBs/FITs, providing risk assessments, offering solutions and mitigation options, and enabling technical rigor that drives product affordability, quality, and delivered performance Engage across EOSQP at Senior Leadership levels horizontally as well as down into the organization vertically as the technical representative of MSD, drawing on your established network within MSD and beyond, engaging Subject Matter Experts, and influencing results that are aligned to MSD vectors, Office of the Chief Engineer, and program deliverables Member of the MSD Director’s Leadership team in developing strategy and tactics Required Experience and Skills : 10 years of experience across the product life cycle including development, critical design, integration & qualification, manufacturing and production support activities, including leadership roles with strong technical and management background Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present to senior management Proactive problem solving experience in both hard and soft arenas Ability to influence others to achieve technical and programmatic goals FRACAS, Failure Review Board (FRB) and/or Failure Investigation Team (FIT) experience Team thinker, player and builder Required Education (including Major): B.S./B.A in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or related engineering degree Desired Education: M.S. or PHD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or related degree Clearance Required: Must have an existing DoD issued Secret Security clearance 111230
