Raytheon Systems Engineer II / Sr. Systems Engineer I - Optical Engineering in Tucson, Arizona

Job Description: The candidate will work individually and participate on engineering teams supporting calibration and maintenance of cryogenic space chambers, systems, and procedures, analyzing measurement systems and error sources, and contributing to continuous improvement of calibration processes in the Metrology Department. Note: This position can be Systems Engineer II or Sr. Systems Engineer I based on candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and responsibility requirements for this position. Typical Tasks Include: Provide technical support in calibration and maintenance of cryogenic space chambers Operate, maintain, and analyze data from imaging radiometer to ensure test quality Provide technical support in calibration and maintenance of radiometric and laser test equipment and test systems Develop written and software calibration procedures Identify and analyze magnitude of error sources contributing to measurement uncertainty Perform data analysis of radiometric FFT measurement data Review and approve Test Position Manuals and Test Error Analysis Records Required Skills: Minimum 2 years technical/engineering experience in a calibration or product test environment with emphasis on compliance with quality requirements Desktop computing including Microsoft Office applications Problem solving, good oral and written communication, and ability to work well in a dynamic environment Understanding and interpretation of mechanical drawings and electrical schematics Ability to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance Desired Skills: Hands-on optical, electrical, and mechanical aptitude Software development in C or LabVIEW Experience with MathCad and MatLab Experience with optics, optical tooling, and radiometry Knowledge of calibration quality standards Required Education (including major): BS in Optical Engineering, Physics - Applied or General, Electrical Engineering, or Electrical / Electronic Engineering Technology 111111
