Sasol North America Warehouse Lead in Tucson, Arizona

Sasol (USA) Corporation has an opening for a Warehouse Lead . This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent and is located in Tucson, AZ. Below are details of the position requirements:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Purchases hard goods, raw materials, operating supplies, and services for the Tucson plant from approved vendors and contractors. Reviews and approves Material and Resource Planning (MRP) requisitions generated by SAP that then are handled by Lake Charles purchasing.

  • Acts as primary negotiator and purchasing contact for the Tucson facility. Develops and maintains a reliable supplier base promotes good vendor relations and vendor competition.

  • Controls procurement costs at the Tucson facility.

  • Oversees warehouse activities related to hard goods, parts, and operating supplies and works closely with Maintenance and Production to ensure that inventories of these materials are adequate to meet production goals.

  • Coordinates changes to SAP material masters and SAP pricing information.

  • Ensures that Purchasing activities are aligned with business goals and Safety, Health, and Environmental and Quality Management Systems objectives and targets as established by management.

  • Informs management of changing market conditions and recommends actions to minimize any detriment or to capitalize on a beneficial change in condition(s).

  • Coordinates the execution and renewal of General Service Contracts for Tucson vendors through Lake Charles

  • Controls vendor access onto plant property and arranges Contractor Safety Briefing to first time vendors who will perform work on plant property.

  • Implements investment recovery activities to reclaim capital from obsolete, surplus or unusable company assets.

  • Receive and verify all incoming shipments against purchase orders to ensure that correct items have been received, fill out Receiving Discrepancy Report for any errors.

  • Perform spare parts warehousing activities to maximize warehouse efficiency.

  • Distribute spare parts to all personnel and maintain accurate inventory records for spare parts warehouse inventory.

  • Reviews and approves MRP purchases that are processed through Lake Charles.

  • Implements procurement and inventory strategies to ensure the Tucson facility is capable of meeting its strategic goals while reducing total cost of ownership.

  • Manages the MRP and SAP material master database.

  • Maintain inventory records for the Spare Parts Warehouse.

  • Properly identifies storage locations of spare parts inventories to ensure prompt identification, retrieval and distribution.

  • Performs month end closing activities.

  • Warehouse Lead ensures:

  • A high level of Sasol workforce and contract service performance in regards to Sasol’s Safety and Health Policies, ISO9001, and plant policies and practices.

  • Follows the Document Management strategy for the company along with the policies and procedures that address quality assurance, information standards, and regulations pertaining to Document Management.

  • Assists continuous improvement efforts to optimize plant performance. Recommends and helps implement process modifications, operating procedure modifications, and physical plant/equipment modifications to increase productivity and improve the quality of materials produced.

  • Oversees the warehouse areas where hard goods, spare parts, and operating supplies are stored.

  • Purchases all hard goods, operating supplies, domestically supplied raw materials, and services used at the Tucson Plant.

  • Responsible for receiving and verifying all incoming shipments against purchase orders and documenting any discrepancies.

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma and/or (2) two or (4) four year degree is preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing and warehouse or material handling required

  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Must have strong organizational and interpersonal communications skills

  • Ability to execute duties and responsibilities independently requiring minimal supervision

  • Strong computer skills (i.e., MS Office, SAP)

  • Experience in planning/scheduling production in a batch processing facility preferred
